A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Monday, March 12 2018, at 11 AM at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 300 W. Babbitt Avenue, Pen Argyl.  There will be viewing hours, Sunday beginning at 2 PM until 5 PM at the Ruggiero Funeral Home, LLC,, 126 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Pen Argyl and Monday beginning at 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM at the church.  Interment will be in St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery, Pen Argyl.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be offered to St. Elizabeth’s Building Fund, 300 W. Babbit Avenue, Pen Argyl, PA  18072


Roger A. Reto
Born: July 21, 1937
Died: March 7, 2018

Roger A. Reto, 80, of Pen Argyl passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at his residence. He was the husband of Concetta I. (Castellucci) Reto of which they celebrated 60 years of marriage this past June 22nd.

Born in Pen Argyl, July 21, 1937, he was the son of the late Anthony and Jennie (Schiavone) Reto. 

He graduated from Kerpel School of Dental Technology in New York City in 1957.  He was previously employed by Sandlers Dental Lab in Allentown. In 1957 he established Roger Reto’s Barber Shop in Pen Argyl. He was in business for 60 years until his retirement in 2017. He was a 3rd generation barber serving the Slate Belt Area.  

Roger attended Pen Argyl High School graduating in 1955. He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church in Pen Argyl. 

In addition to his wife, Concetta I., he is survived by daughters Jennifer Renaldo and her husband David of Bangor, PA, Leslie McKelvey and her husband Kent of Easton, PA, sons Alan Reto and his wife Alisa of Saylorsburg, PA, Steven and his wife Kathy of West Chester, PA, Roger and his wife Kiersten of Reading, PA, John and his wife April of Saylorsburg, PA. His loving grandchildren; Anthony Reto, Christopher Reto, Richelle Ruggiero, Dominic Reto, Nickolas Reto, Gianni Reto, Michael Reto, Antonio Reto, Cara McKelvey, Lorenzo Reto, Ty McKelvey, Isabella Reto, Vincent Reto, Juliana Reto and Francesca Reto.

He was preceded in death by his sister Geraldine Reto and a daughter Linda A. Ruggiero and son Roger A. Reto. 

He was a member of the Father DeNisco Council #3862 in West Bangor, PA.  His strong passion for his family and friends brought him his greatest pleasure.  He enjoyed watching his children & grandchildren play sports.  He loved being with his customers, his extended family, over the past 60 years.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting as well as his devotion to his church.
